actually it may be possible with a custom install of the earlier office set, using something like office 2003 alpha (a name not expected by so not used in the 2010's install and over write functions) and then installing office 2010 with its standard setup you may be able to put both on one machine,

I tried this approach once with Office 2000, which I had and worked fine, with Office 2010 and it just created a disaster. I finally had to totally uninstall both and then just install Office 2010 which then worked fine. There may be a way but I think you are better off sticking with one or the oth
