i had considered getting a netbook.
but they don't have cd/dvd drives on them.
is one able to be connected to a netbook?
if so where would it connect to and where would i get one?

You can use an external CD/DVD ROM. You can get them from PC vendors
(often the vendors selling you notebooks would have these external
devices).
You connect it via the port for thumb drives using a USB cable that
comes with your external ROM.

and of course decent sound for skype and voicemail.
most i have found so far only have 1 gig of ram

have Windows XP on them. A few of them have windows vista, but I didn't
find very many of those. I didn't find any that were running windows 7.
