hi all,
i am doing mock lab 2 (last updated on 04122011) today and have faced
certain types of calls being blocked by PSTN-WAN router.
is anyone facing the same issue in other labs?

Hello Experts,
How do I set up a Calling Party Transformation in DP to trap any devices

You would need to configure either zone prefix (priority) or tech-prefix for
routing within local zone GK.

No you can't because it's trying to use CTI porta to play the message, not SIP

if you have local route groups
when the user logs in to a phone using EM it will use the LRG of the DP that
yo associated to the device. because on the device profile you can't assign
a device pool.
you can indeed use the line device approach

by the way, just found the way to get h245 ports from IOS too:
VOICEGW#show ip nbar port-map h323 tcp
port-map h323 tcp 1300 1718 1719 1720 *11000 - 11999 *

Yeap, that range sounds like doable to remember.
The trick is that when I have tested it on the lab. Eg: I have tried to use
some ACLs to block H245 messages, my H245 packets are always using TCP ports
out of that range :S

you got me there... that's the only one you're going to have to remember.
11000 - 11999 not that difficult...

IMHO, whenever you are not requested specifically to trust or not-trust,
then not-trust is the safest way to go. This way you know you have control
of the proper dscp taggings on the WAN links.
If you do trust, then you must make sure that all devices are sending proper

Non trust on branches would likely get you the points. However, I have the

Rogers,
On branch sites, since there is no LAN QoS, frames/packets
arrive in with proper L3 markings. My practice has been to trust the markings
on the branch sites. Any particular reason why you don't do it on the branch
sites?

Hi Adam,
No need to remember all ports by memory at all...
You have all tools available in IOS to lookup ports:
h323 signalling:
VOICEGW#show ip port-map h323
Default mapping: h323 tcp port 1720
system defined
h323 RAS:
VOICEGW#show ip port-map h225ras
Default mapping: h225ras
On HQ side do trust if you've done LAN and all other sites dont trust since
you dont have LAN QoS
