I've never seen major bumps from going to faster disks, I've got servers with 10k drives and servers with 15k drives and I've never seen any change. I would go with 4 gig, hell, I'd go with more if you can find a board that will support it. I'd also consider SCSI drives over SATA. A couple u320 14
