I don't know a heck of a lot about mp3 players either, but TDK is well known for it's recordable media, so it woul dstand to reason that they would be at least decent in their other products. Maybe not a Sony or Onkyo of the mp3 world, but I think you get my point.

I've not seem anything like this, but I will point out two possible
gotchas I see:
only 64 megs of RAM ~~ 1 hour of music
takes MMC/SD cards, which are more expensive and more fragile than CF
cards, as well as having a smaller size limit
