Amen to that. My mother's cancer spread to her brain. She was no longer herself. It was tragic seeing such a strong, vibrant woman reduced to that. We hoped for it to be over, then felt guilty about hoping, then resented feeling guilty, then felt relieved when it ended and her spirit could be freed
my condolences Michael, I went through this with a grandmother and a great-uncle. Both important important figures in my childhood but When someone has Alzheimer's it is hard to say that a stroke might not be best... and then hard not to feel guity for saying it

When I was in college, some friends of mine and I were hanging out in a
dorm room, talking. This was right after the semester had started, and
everyone in the dorms recieved this care package with all sorts of
goodies - guys got a container of Edge Gel.

My uncle (great uncle actually) passed away Friday night. We found out Sat
night and I spent most of the day Sunday (which was Purim, basically a
joyous holiday) doing the funeral thing.
