And they changed the format back. They seem to still own it, but they are
now back to the previous format, mostly alt-rock with weekly blues, jazz and
native american shows.

That's hopeful, maybe they'll come to their senses in the DFW market.

You realize of course Clear Channel immediately benefited from the
republican administration with their relaxing of the radio station ownership
rules. In the 2000 election CCC was one of the larger contributers to the
RNC and the Bush election committee.

rather fun! Of course, he owns in his timeslot in Orlando, and has for
years, so that just might have something to do with it...

That is not necessarily true. Jim Phillips is the host of the
Phillips Phile on Real Radio 104.1 in Orlando, and he
REGULARLY slams Bush. He makes no secret of the fact that he
hates his politics and takes any
levied on
him.

I listen to the Howard Stern show on occasion.According to him there
were no fines which lead to him being knocked off Clear Channel stations
(despite what Clear Channel stated in their no tolerance policy).
You could probably make an argument that it was a preemptive strike.

They did that to me, too, and I really mourned that radio station. The other stations in the area were much much more pop-rock and I really found very little to listen to. And then one day, while channel surfing, I came across an announcement by the station manager: OK OK you have made your point.
