Yeah flash video (.flv) is the way to go...we have a trailer to a kids animation DVD we created and with the amount of traffic we get (20,000 unique per month) it's still super quick..but yes make sure you have the bandwidth..as we do about 10GB traffic a month but that is not just the trailer..but
