Hey Everyone,
I was talking to a buddy of mine, and he was telling me on his VIN plate, that next to Chevrolet it says "DD." He is talking about his VIN plate, not his Cowl plate, and it was a Kansas built car. My book says nothing about it. Thought maybe somebody else knows? I tried Dales

My 72 Chevelle Malibu has a column shift, I have the console, and a
shifter, and the cable for the shifter. I really want to do this
conversion. I am planning on changing the 350 turbo to a 200R4 maybe
next year with the economy the way it is. Can anyone give me a steps
needed to pull this off?
Sounds like you have what you need. Your only missing a floor shift column
and the floor shift blank to cover up the indicator on the dash. I question
where is your neutral safety switch if you don't change the column right
away. I believe the shift rod still hooks to the column so in key off
I am pulling my M-21 out of my Chevelle and want to know what a fair price
to ask for it. It is in great shape and needs nothing. It is date correct
for 66-67 Chev. having the 5010 case. I am thinking of putting it on E-Bay
so I value the lists opinion on its worth. Thanks
Diane,
You didn't mention the console wiring harness, which you will need if you want
console lights and the neural safety switch hooked up.
Also, do you have the gauges dash wiring harness? If not, you will need some
help with the wiring differences. Not a huge problem, you just need to know
Well,
Yes, I have the wiring harness still connected to the dash. I'm sure
I have the console wiring harness too. SO, I guess I need a floor shift
console to proceed. Do I need to drill holes in the tunnel, and where
would that be? :-Diane

Hey everybody we are sending out an e-mail to let all of our customers know that we
are having a used parts sale. All used parts that we have are 25% off so for those
people that need parts and are trying to save some easy cash here is your chance. The
sale is good only till September 30th.
Diane,
You'll need to first install mounts to the tunnel that the console screws
into. You can install them with sheetmetal screws but at the factory they
are welded and they are more stable and look nicer welded. Then screw the
console to these mounts and the mount on the shifter base. I could
I would also be interested in the measurements for mounting an automatic
console mounting bracket to the tunnel. In my case its for a 72 El Camino.
Anyone out there have their floor boards exposed and willing to make a
measurement? Next best thing would be the measurement to where the console
Another question: When converting from column shifter to floor shifter, does
one have to worry about the reverse lights?
OK mine have never worked since I got the car. It came with a TH350 and
column shifter that has been replaced with an aftermarket floor shifter. I
have no idea where the
Hello all,
I am looking for a console and wiring for it for my 70 Chevelle. Anyone know where I can get one?
thanks,

When you say worry about, it makes one wonder since you haven't had them operational anyway. Me neither in the 17
Hey Everyone,
Well, I went and put air bags on the Chevelle...and I must say, it looks awesome. I will post pictures on my webpage here in a day or so. But I have my sway bar, and I was just wondering if anybody needs one? Its off my 66 Chevelle its the thicker one, polyurethane bushings also.
This I must see pictures of!

You are better off waiting until you have all the products before you go drilling any holes.
