Isn't there a plug for oil @ the front of block? I know I have one on my 86-350 and I put a sending unit there.

There is a small plug just above the timing cover on the
drivers side but I don't think there's room enough for a sending unit - might be
though but it'd look out of place. You could use a short 1/8" NPT nipple,
a 90ยบ elbow, another nipple and elbow to move the fitting out and away from the
Hi Dale,
Yes, the reproduction gauge set is now electric across the board. I saw a post
from you on the Chevelle board that listed this out; went last night to
AutoZone and got the pieces - works just fine!
Thanks!

Dan,
I know that there is an auto transporter in Springfield Mo. Can't remember his
name but he is a buyer/seller of vintage cars and has a dealership there. He picked
up a 66 Chevelle from my buddy a few months back. Came through with a 3 car hauler
truck and was towing a trailer for 2
What purpose does the junction block serve?
Thanks for the info Rick and John,

Rusty,
From what I can tell of my '69, the junction block that is mounted
on/near/by the radiator mount on the passenger side of the car (near
the battery) Is where power runs from the battery (via that larger red
wire in your harness) to the main fuse block for the rest of the car. I

Also, there are two listed on the Chevelles.net

endorsement here.
If you want a list of lots of potential carriers go to www.movecars.com. I've also heard that Intercity does a really good job, but they will only go to certain cities or certain routes. Middle of the country should be no problem, Seattle was at this time.

Does anyone know where the sending unit wiring goes and what color it should

behind brake cylinder that reaches about 2 ft. Could this be the old temp

Seems like a good deal to me. My Haggerty policy costs me just over
$200, but insurance in Texas is higher than most places. As long as
you get a policy that suits your driving habits, I don't think you can
go wrong with any of the Classic Car Insurers.

The wiring on my 72 goes down the drivers side and is tan. I'm
reasonably sure that tan was standard color for several years. If
you remove the door sill plate push back the carpet you should be
able to find the wiring bundle. If you go to the GENERAL area

The Junction Block is used as a power tap source. Instead of trying to wire
5 things to the positive post on the battery, a large gauge wire (8 or 10)
is run from the battery to a single-post (in most cases) junction block.
Anything that needs a direct hot lead is then run from this block. As
My problem is more that I don't have any power sources. I don't want the
damn lead there! ;) I am going down to the local muscle car shop to pick up
a block and a new battery tray. Does anyone know the exact mount location?
I don't see an obviously place so I am wondering if I have to drill it.
was just wondering, did all ss models come with the full gauge package ? seen a ss for sale on e-bay this car also had the shifter on the column, is it you get what you order or what. the seller claims its a number matching car, i just always thought when you ordered an ss all the goodies came
Not all the goodies came standard on an SS, most of those items were options, IE bucket seats and console, gauges, etc.
