Thanks guys. I hate to take time to say what many others have said before me,

many books and documents. It takes so long to get things done
the better combo for the 402 BB?? It certainly shouldn't bog
down going into second. I just want something I have to shift and can listen
to while doing it. I don't know if it would make a difference of 3 shifts or
4, as long as they are on the floor.
Thanks for any input.
Jim
All this U bolt/ Straps information makes me think about my situation. My '69

bolt.
It's going back together as a 402 with a 4 speed and a 12 bolt posi. Sounds

I agree it is all in the back spacing. I use 75 Nova spindles on my 65 with
factory 14x7 steel wheels. I tried my 97 Camaro wheels they hit the top ball
joint, way too much back spacing. They fit fine on the rear. This means a
wider wheel with more back spacing on the rear will give you all the rub

Your frame mounts are very important on this swap. 2 inch headers are a very
tight fit. Most people remove the radiator extension. 66/67 big block mounts

Keith, I didn't save the original email about this topic that may have
listed the number, but if you called the legitimate "Do Not Call Registry"
nothing will happen. It's just that you didn't have to do it. I saw this

Any help

The
throttle shaft has a history of leaking. A good carb shop can drill out the
base plate and install a bushing to solve the leak. Holley offers this service
and so does JET.
