Hi:
I am trying to connect my Cisco 1601 to analog modem, can anyone
tell me what cable to use? Should I use CAB-232MT (DB60 to RS232, male)
or CAB-232FC (female)? or both will do?

Yes, not using a non standard wan protocol outside of HDLC will not work. See,
this protocol is propriotory to cisco. Other vendors use HDLC or SDLC but will
only work with there equipment only based on the bit propritory flag. You did not

ISL with Etherchannel is not supported on 11.2. I think you have to be at

I would also think that the chances of running 10Gb Ethernet over current

noticed that it's a new variation on Cat5 (cat5e? I believe). So if people
have to start running new cables to make 10Gb ethernet work, it could t

At least for me, once I logged into the URL (http://www.galton.com/~cisco/),
I had to agree to their certification agreement online (although you do that
at the testing site when you take it). Once I agreed to the aggreement, I
could download the logos, etc...

Hi all,
An update. I made a mistake on the configs. The mistake can easily be

in-band management: uses the same channel(s) you are using to pass data to
control the line
out-of-band: has a separate path/channel that it uses to control the line
