A while ago I looked up some info on the ATA. You need to configure a
gateway. This gateway acts as the CallAgent/CallManager. So your ATA will
contact the gateway when you want to make a call.
I therefore believe only one gateway is supported, and you will not be able

Depending on the level of control you want you can use tacacs to do this.
Another way less granular is to use:
username bruce password allmighty privilege 15
username joe password black privilege 0
This gives user bruce enable mode access and user joe user mode access.

Hello Pieter,
As you know delay is one of the problems with VSAT. You can do nothing about

That's nice of you to want to share your hardware... You can use a terminal

You have the right idea - a person will telnet into the terminal server and
from there do a reverse telnet to the equipment that is connected on the

Hi,
I just want to make something clear. NetBIOS and NetBEUI were created by IBM
and later found its way to Microsoft networks who changed it.
- These protocols are non-routable in an IBM environment.
- NetBEUI is non-routable in TCP/IP networks.
- NetBIOS is non-routable without the help of NetB
My guess is that maybe there is a problem with the buffer assignment, i.e. a
memory problem, when you have a traffic rate approaching 200-300kbps. Cisco
will probably fix this in the software.

Hi there,
I assume you want to connect your ADSL router to the internet? Yes, then you
have no other option than to use NAT. You were provided with one static IP
address and this valid address is routable on the internet. Therefore you'll
need typically an extended NAT to this address for all devi

Hi Zsombor,
The last time I checked BGP was a routing protocol, that means there is an
algorithm running that's calculating the best path to a destination. A bunch
of information is advertised to you and your router needs to decide which
routes to put in the routing table based on the information
Paul,
Put "no synchronization" under your BGP router command and do your tests

Your assumption that the problem is on the router is probably right. I would

Hi,
Just a few thoughts:
1. You can use something small like a 1720 to run BGP but the trick here is
to filter all/some routes that you are receiving. The current recommendation
from Cisco is 128MB for full BGP routing tables (I think the tables stand on
110 000 routes now). The second part would
Hi,
Remember that when you ping from the console the source address will be the
interface where the packet exists. Therefore I suggest you do an extended

you will see this is the problem.

Hi there,
>From Routing TCP/IP Vol.2 of Doyle,
"Each NAT entry uses approximately 160 bytes of memory, so 65535 entries
would consume more than 10MB of memory and large amounts of CPU power"
Although this is a guideline, you will never really know until you've tried
your configuration. However,
Joseph,
I may be wrong, but I think dynamic VLANS can only by assigned according to
the MAC address (I can't believe Cisco doesn't make dynamic VLAN assignment
also based on the IP, port, etc. !!??) In any case the feature you need to
use is VMPS (VLAN membership policy server).
