I'm not sure if your doing this on actual physical equipment but if you
would refer to the figure 1-15 on page 43:
P1R1 can route to the subnet 192.168.1.65 (this is subnet 64, 65 is the
first available host, configured on P1R2 interface E0) through S0 and S1

For those of you who have the BSCN Cisco press book, you can refer to pages
95 for this question.
A router has the following ip's in its routing table:
172.16.1.0011 [48] /28
172.16.1.1000 [128] /28
172.16.1.1001 [144] /28
172.16.1.1010 [160] /28

Greetings all
Could someone please shed some light on IP Unnumbered Serial Interfaces.
From my BSCN book, I understand this is getting ip routing to work on a
serial interface without specifying a specific ip to the serial interface
(using the ip unnumbered command)
My question is why would

I am currently studying for CCNP v2 and have begun with the BSCN exam.

I am moving through the second chapter of the BSCN text from Cisco press.
To my disappointment, they only dedicated 3 pages to VLSM's and did a rather
quick and dirty
job on it.
Would anyone going through or have already passed their BSCN have a web
resource or other source that I

I am currently studying for the BCSN exam, have a question . . .
1. When a distant vector protocol sends out a "flash" update when a
route goes down, do the neighboring routers who receive the "flash"
update send out their own updates immediately or do they wait for their
default

If i make a mistake in my explanation of this, then please someone jump in
and correct me. I'm still learning a lot of this.
1. Classfull Addressing
The basic thing to remember with classful addressing is any router using
this addressing scheme DOES NOT include the subnet mask
From my test i gave 2 points you need to focus on:
1.) know your OSI model inside out and backwards
2.) know your IOS commands and how to use the help feature.
I wasn't allowed a calculator (calc on the windows box is not available
either) but you are allowed to bring in paper and a pencil which
I have my ccna, studying for my ccnp.
Just curious what would be appropriate to charge on an hourly bases for my

Please excuse my ignorance, but being new to CCNP (just started) I was
wondering what the difference is between IOS ED and IOS GD versions.
Is one beta, other production?

I am beginning my CCNP V2.0 certs this week (as you are all aware by now)
I was curious, my CCNA cert is only v 1.0, to become certified as a CCNP
v2.0 do I have to have CCNA v2.0?
Will I have to redo my CCNA?

Would it be safe to say that the CCNP Routing and Switching (RS) cert is
more sought after then the CCNP WAN?
Could it be said that their are more people with CCNP RS then there are
with CCNP WAN?

A friend and I are both going for the CCNP together.
We were thinking of each getting a Cisco 1605 so we can do the labs for the
640-503 exam.
I just wanted to know if the Cisco 1605's are sufficient. They come with

ccnp "EXAM", you don't need
any router, but if you want to get the ccnp level "KNOWLEDGE", you'd
better have at least 3 routers. If you don't get the ccnp level
knowledge, your certification is just a paper

Just getting geared up for the CCNP. Going to start with BSCN.
Just wanted to ask everyone's opinion on what books are good to study.
I've ordered the Cisco press book but are their others which would be on par
or better?
Thanx
