Hi Guys,
I was wondering if there is a SNMP MIB that can inform me when the last
change in configuration took place on a router/switch. I want to utilize
this information to back-up configurations.
Currently we're blindly logging to the routers/swicthes, grabbing the config
and comparing. This me
Hi Peter,
On the onset, it looks like a proxy-arp issue. Can you please inform
me(and double check) all the subnet masks your are using for all interfaces
for all machines (i.e. pix, servers...)
Do you have any layer3 routing enabled on your 3550 ?
If subnet masks look fine, and the 3550 i

Hi All,
Thanks for all your input! :D
· Yes! the code is full open source. This program was actually some r&d for
work. We thought we can help the networking community by releasing this to
the public.
* The program needs the following commands to be executed :

Hi All,
A friend and myself have recently completed a program, in which WE think
is going to be very helpful to all engineers out there. Basically its a
network-graphing program. How does it work ?
· logs on to all known routers in your network and issues term len 0 and
then show ip route.
Hi All,
What i noticed was that on the 1603 IPCP(Internet Protocol Control

Hi Brian,
Yes it does work. I have lab tested the above and it produces the desired
results(In theory it worked for me, but since I had my lab set up, curiosity
got the better of me..). I would, if I had the choice :D, choose number 1.
Cheers

Hi Vikram,
have tried connecting to the server using passive ftp ? I have
encountered bugs relating to PAT as Andrew mentioned. The workaround I
applied was to remove "ip route-cache" on the nat inside and outside
interface. This was temporary till the bug was fixed offcourse...

Hi ,
I suspect your using the wrong feature to accomplish your task. The feature
youre using: CBWFQ, is a queuing mechanism that "kicks" in when congestion
is faced. The following is from CCO :
"The bandwidth assigned to a class is the guaranteed bandwidth delivered to
the class during congesti
Hi Edward,
If you can ping the other end of the serial link, then PPP password etc,
are not an issue.
There is nothing I can see thats obviously wrong, apart from a sneaking
suspicion that "async dynamic address" could be causing your issue. You have
currently hard set your ip addresses, this
Hi Simon,
There is a way, but its a hack. I dont recommend you do this, but just
shows that you dont always need to attack the problem directly..

Hi all
I failed the new CCIE written exam too. I was close, 68%, but that’s
just not enough. Here are some points about the exam that you should know :
* The test "thoroughly" tests your theory. You really need to know it. To be
more precise, someone at work should be able to come to you, and

F = ignore
reason why its F?, the mask is based on hex :D

HI,
yes your right, the reason why you see soo little packets on your
rate-limit is due to the MLS encorporated into the cat 6500(you need to get
into engineering mode to remove it...).
yes there is a way out. Search for "CoS" rate limiting on the CCO for cat

Hi
I have had this issue before, but with an isdn setup. The issue was to do
with "ip route-cache" not being implemented properly with NAT. I needed to
remove "ip route-cache" as a workaround. So try and remove "ip route-cache"
on all active interfaces. It’s a bug, but i have misplaced the bug
I have no logical explanation for removing route-cache. I suggested the idea
due to my live network having a very similar setup to your V-lab, but not
experincing the same symptoms (IOS are different though
). I cant do any
changes to my config, as its for a bank. The no ip route-cache field
Priscilla,
Can you disable "ip route-cache" on all your frame-relay interfaces and
then give the trace a try ?

i should have included this part as well to the previous post :

172.26.1.2 20 msec

The above indicates, of the two possible paths the router has [172.26.1.2,
172.26.1.13] it has chosen the path 172.26.1.13.

it displays the ip twice when it has two paths to a particular destination.
In this case 192.168.1.103.
type "show ip route 192.168.1.103" and you will see two possible paths.

HI Jack,
Apart from updating a previous config, i dont see any way that this could
have occured. anyone have any ideas?
you could type show startup-config and see the previous config, but that
wont be of any help if you did type "copy run start" whilst you were
configuring.
