I thought the test was kinda tuff because it had some specific questions about
lower end hardware that I haven't touched. It also asked a few questions
on ATM which I hadn't been familiar with until I started studying.
Just be prepared to memorize a lot of stuff. The Cisco Press CLSC
such
as the old 3000 series and stack groups etc..
All in all some people find this the easiest but I came from a Telco/ISP
background and found the campus stuff especially such product specific
questions to be more difficult.
Then again I never did the CLSC course.

It appears that Cisco has changed the CLSC exam. Instead of 72 questions @
90 min you get 70 questions @ 60 min. 95% of my questions were, given a
topic pick 2 out of 4 - 8 answers that are true.

I took the BSMSN test. However, I originally studied for the CLSC test. I
would say that there is about 15-20% crossover material. But this is the
material that you REALLY should know: STP, VLANs, VTP, Trunking...
I didn't get any architecture questions that I can remember. I HIGHLY

The BCMSN book from Cisco Press is to be published May 19th. Amazon will
take your order now and mail it when availableit is 30% cheaper through
Amazon also. I've been waiting for a couple weeks rather than using a CLSC
book...plenty of other material to study in the meantime

IMHO, I think you should try for the switching 2.0 exam. It is a much more
realistic reflection of what administering switches is all about.

If you are taking the 640-404 exam, the areas you need to concentrate on
HEAVILY are ATM LANE, Catalyst 5000 series, and bridging. I used Todd
Lammle's study guide as well as my own Cat. 5000 for test preparation.

I think it's nothing wrong to offer the used book you have used for the
certs.
CLSC is still relevant up to some extent for BCMSN. I came from a poor
family, and I know how it is to buy expensives book for your certs. Though
I prefer to keep my book for futher refereces, but again
