Hello,
I'm have 2 Cisco 2501, and I need configure them as Frame-Relay
Switching, but this model has only 2 Serial interfaces, so I get some
configuration examples that explain how configure Frame-Relay switching
on a Tunnel using the Ethernet Interface, but some commands of this
configuration
-relay switching command, but don't know how to use it. Your help
is appreciated.

Hi everyone,
Was wondering if anyone hasd a sample config for doing frame relay
PVC switching on a multiple serial interface router. Example would be a

Is there a way to have two 2501s directly connected on a serial interface
using frame relay with multiple PVCs, but have all those PVCs route to an
ethernet interface on one of the routers?
I know it sounds like an awkward way of doing things, but I'm trying to set

I think you can only configure encapsulation on a serial interface.

Hi all,

Now I'm trying to use the ISDN port to for FR switching to so I can

Does anybody know
I have a little lab set up to play around with frame-relay traffic
shaping. I have 3 2501's linked up, with the one in the middle
configured as a frame relay switch.
Is there a way to configure the middle router to insert fecns and becns
as it switches the traffic?

afaik, NO.
However you can set up DE (discard eligibility) limit and when that
threshold is reached, you can see it on debugs as well as on sh frame PVC
(total in DE's out DE's)

Folks,
In my Lab, I have been struggling with no progress to configure my IOS based
switch to generate FECN/BECNs so that I may see evidence of my routers
reacting to ECNs. Has anybody got an example or reference to a complete
scenario illustrating working configs of the switch and client
The 2 wire frame that I have done has a couple magic commands
isdn switch-type basic-net3
isdn leased-line BRI0 128

Hi,
You need frame-relay switching command in order to enter the command
frame-relay intf-type dce to make a serial interface appear as a dce
interface to frame relay.

Thomas,
On fr switch, dce side needs clock rate defined. If your interface is dte,
simply assign clock rate on the dce side of other router (but of couse you

Thanks All for all the support! I went over all the setting: clockrate on

the PVC. Just the make sure you are clear with my senario, here is the
When pvc's are reported "inactive" it means that you do not have end to end
