Sam, "the whole DTE/DCE" thing is related directly to where the clocking comes from. In a "typical" wan, the clocking to your router's serial port comes from an external CSU/DSU that your carrier may provide. Therefor, the carried is the DCE and your router is the DTE. In a home environment, if
