I used a 4 port rj45 switchbox which I got for 12 bucks for a while. I connected the db9+rollover cable to the input, and just use patch cables for the connections. The reason I picked up the 500-cs is so I can access my home lab from work when I have the time. Also if you need to do some

I keep seeing 500-CS, 2509, and 2511 thrown out as suggestions for a terminal server, but aren't these a little expensive when you really just want a serial switch? Is there a reason that more people don't use a simple serial switchbox for home lab study? I'm looking through the Black Box
