I scanned my old Barient catalogue, and Stu put it up on the photoalbum under winches. I also sent it to Allen at L-36.com. Stu's version is a little compromised size-wise, but the L-36 version is the full-size scan. http://l-36.com/barient_catalog.php Almost all the Barient winches and their

Stus-List hull number distinction between 38 and Landfall 38

2014-06-21 Thread PME via CnC-List
Hi, When I first purchased my LF38 I was a bit surprised with the CCY hull number as I thought I read somewhere that the Landfalls were build in Canada. I know that the LF38 shares the same hull as the 38, but what in the hull id distinguishes a LF38 from a 38? I have always assumed that

Paul — as far as I know, the LF’s were all built in Rhode Island. And the hull differences lie primarily in the keel design; while the original 38 has a deep fin keel, the LF38 has a shallower-draft, but longer, keel. The 38’s draw between 6’-1” and 7’-7”, while the LF38 draws 4’-11”. Fred

Mike: Call Philip Stevens, Sealand Industries, in Chester and get a price from him to go get your boat and truck it home. I bet your will spend at least half the cost of going to get it yourself and sail it back, plus a week's vacation, added to the risk of sailing a new boat you know

If it was my new boat I couldn't wait to sail it. I'd take a week or so to do the trip (this assumes it passed a good survey). I'd plan to leave Dartmouth and get the boat sorted out over the course of a day heading for the C Cod Canal and then stop at one end. I'd probably spend the next day

I am pleased to report that the boat has been launched and that the launch went smoothly; the engine (Yanmar 3HM) fired right up and has plenty of power in reverse, (2 blade fixed prop); the only thing I wasn't ready for was, when under power, there is a steady pull to port, like when a car is

Hi Mike and Robert IMHO that Frers 33 is a speedy well built boat and I think a very fun boat to sail and from what I could find out I liked it a lot, there were none around here to see.I checked one out quite seriously before I got Alianna and even still I wonder if I made the right choice
