I have to ask - do the designs on the mast and the overhead cloud
design come off, or are they painted on.
Also is the boat a shower-stall version or a combined head/shower
version

Definitely consider having it locally manufactured as a more affordable option. I was fortunate, the previous owner manufacture a stainless triple bow roller with two line chocks built into the design.

Hi, Paul — I’ve actually got a spare casting sitting in my garage; I don’t
necessarily want to part with it, but could it serve as a pattern to have a new
weldment made up out of stainless or aluminum for you? Maybe one with some
improvements… And maybe they could make more than one… :^)

Hi,
I am wondering if any LF38 owners have replaced the original cast stemhead/bow
roller? For those not familiar with LF38 stemhead, it is a triangular cast
plate on the bow which incorporates bow chocks and rollers along with the
connection point for the forestay. I found a crack in mine
Paul,
Did you ask for 1.5 ounce? In light to moderate air .75 is plenty. If it
is blowing you will probably use your jib. 24 feet is plenty of chute! I
have a dacron jib from National Sails/Rolly Tasker. Very happy after 3
seasons. No experience with their chutes or socks.

I have a North asym, new, never been flown with launching sock. It has an "I"
of 47.5 and a "J" of 15.9, .75 oz 984sq ft.

Curiously, this discussion of an asymmetrical spinnaker for a Landfall 38
has come up just when I am trying to decide what to do with one that I
don't use and won't - just as we are downsizing to a smaller house and it's
seriously time to clean out the attic. When we bought our Landfall 38 ten

Paul,
I have one symmetrical and two asymmetrical sails for Cool Change.
The symmetrical is 3/4 oz, North Sails S2.
The Asymmetrical sails: one is 3/4 oz Hood and the other is a 1-1/2 oz narrow
cut sail, probably 20 years old.
Of the three, I like the 1-1/2 oz narrow cut sail the best. It may no

Paul,
Before you go any further in your quest, I have a brand new in the
sleeve North "A" symmetrical for a 38 Landfall. My boat was a 1982 #125.
Give me a few days to provide measurements although all 38 Landfalls may
be the same. I'm sure there are listers who might provide information to

Couple thoughts:
National Sail is Rolly Tasker's agent. FWIW I think they are a great value.
I'm surprised they all went with 1.5 ounce fabric. .75 ounce is enough for
most cruisers.
Even the smaller chute is probably way bigger than any jib you use. I
would not worry about it. You will
Hi,
I am looking into getting an asymmetrical spinnaker for my 38 LF. I have
received a few quotes from different vendors each suggesting a slightly
different size chutes.National Sails has the better price which includes a
dousing sock, but it is a smaller chute.
So my question is what
