You can also push stiff rigging wire into the mast, sometimes that works better than dropping a soft line. Tape over the ends so they are smooth. A piece of 3/16-1/4" wire won't break if it gets caught up somewhere, unlike a fish tape. I left 15' of fish tape behind the ceiling of one boat because

The best way to fish wires in and out of a long narrow cavity is to tie on a poly line with a few half hitches spread over a foot or so along a wire that is still in the mast.  Then use some electrical tape to secure the line. I always fold over the end of my tape to create a 'flag' to make it

Hey everyone, I'm re-wiring my mast as part of a total re-wire. I was using the old all-round light wiring to pull my new all-round light wiring through when the old wiring broke because it was so deteriorated. I now have no way - or so it seems - to get my new through the mast without using
