The spring reporting season for Colorado Birds and North American Birds
(NAB) comes to end on Sunday. Colorado Birds is published by the
Colorado Field Ornithologists' and NAB is published by the American
Birding Association. The spring season for both journals extends from

The Scarlet Tanager was still in Gregory Canyon at the location described
yesterday (about 50 - 100 yds beyond the second bridge) early this morning
actively chasing Western Tanagers across the canyon and back and chipping
softly.
Cara Stiles had located him before I came up the canyon about 6:30
Flycatchers were abundant today. I saw several Western Wood-Pewees and several
Willows, 1 Gray, 1 Cordilleran, 1 Ash-throated, and 1 SCISSOR-TAILED (imm.).
The Lazuli Bunting is still in Blanca, but the homeowner with the birdfeeders
acted impatient with this birdwatcher peering into her yard

I heard and then saw the previously reported singing White-eyed Vireo about 9am
this morning at Crow Valley CG. It was not far west of the central parking lot.
I photographed a screech-owl that was seen by several others in this same area.

Dear Cobirders,
I spotted two Green Herons this afternoon (5/29) in the reeds along
the south shore of the western Twin Lake in Gunbarrel (Boulder
County). I saw them fly over the lake and into the cattails, so I
don't know how easy they would be to find otherwise.

Had one morning in Denver and we hit the Wheatridge Greenbelt. It was
very birdy. The highlight was a singing male Rose-breasted
Grosbeak. There was a wonderful pale juvenile Red-tailed Hawk who let
us watch him for a 1/2 hour as he was harassed by Redwings and Grackles.
Later over the
Hi cobirders my feet have healed so I tried birding mostly near the
car. Eleven AM got to Lower Latham area.
Migration mostly over.
Road 42 pond had a large shorebird disappear behind a peninsula . A
Baird's Sandpaper was running under an
American Avocet one of 8. There were also 8 Wilson
