Lots of birders looking all morning, though as far as I know, the male
Vermilion Flycatcher hasn't been seen, below Pueblo Reservoir dam. This
species isn't great at staying, so I'm not too surprised. If it turns up

There are a lot of places in the Canon City area that the wigeon could go.
Centennial Park, Sells Pond, anywhere along the river, among other places.
Hopefully someone will find out other places it goes. It was at Valco Pond in
Canon City until at least 930am yesterday.

The Bonaparte's Gulls that were around early in the year, have left.
Sage Thrashers continue to be seen around in the junipers at Pueblo Reservoir,
as well as many Mountain Bluebirds. Both Loggerhead and Northern Shrikes were
around this weekend at Pueb
Margie Joy found a Red-necked Grebe off North Picnic Road, at Pueblo Reservoir,
Pueblo County, this morning. It was with a small group of Western Grebes, when
I got there. This species is quite rare in the middle part of the winter.

Currently the Christmas Bird Count Website, doesn't have the dates public yet.
I'm guessing they might on Monday. As soon as they do, everyone will be able
to see the dates and sign up for the Christmas Bird Count(s) you want to
participate in.

Another question for my old fuzzy mind. There was one Whooping Crane that
that migrated from
Idaho to New Mexico, and stopped off in the San Luis Valley. Does anyone know
about the count-ability of those birds in Colorado?

back. Yesterday, I saw a Townsend's Warbler in this area, though I didn't see
one today.
