For business customers, the option for XP has never been withdrawn. The last
time checked, I could order any computer I need with XP. There are sill
many applications that do not work with XP, or Apple.

to YouTube. My MPG file is 500mb but Youtube limits you to 100 mb.
How do I go about compressing the video so that it's small enough to
upload? I'm on either an iMac G5 and I do have GarageBand if that

cheapest computer you can find. For somebody who isn't going to be
doing anything more complicated than web browsing, e-mail, Quicken and
MS Office almost any computer built in the last 5 years will be adequate
to the task.

Your neighbor could likely save himself money by taking the laptop to a
decent repair shop and tell them he can't connect to the web. A good shop
will be able to connect his laptop to a test network and see if there is a
problem with his network adapter or with his network configuration. If it
