Try re-installing the X font servers
(XFree86-fs- something).
There's a bug whereby permanent files are installed into /tmp
and they cause this symptom.

I think the base word is
"apaciguar"
which means
"To appease"
"apasiguate" looks to be the verb form of the noun,
literally meaning "to appease you".

I have tried XFree86 4.0-4mdk and I have had a few problems.
I use a laptop with an ATI Rage Mobility Pro.
1) The emulation of 3 mouse buttons no longer works. This is awkward with
only two mouse buttons since there is no universal keyboard method in Linux for
cut and paste between apps
