To me it looks like an update of the package RPM (Requirename is part of the
RPM database) where an "rpm --rebuilddb" is necessary before upgrading new
packages. Something mis

That's not the right case:

There aren't any .DCOPServer* files in ~
A few side notes:when I remove ~/.drakfw it starts asking what desktop
to install, I select KDE, continue through the reg process and then the
KDE wizard starts.

Stew, thanks very much for the release of this ISO - its pretty much the
only viable way of cooking on my floppy-les powerbook.
I have one issue with KDE not starting up the 2nd time.
If I empty my ~ directory and restart x it starts the x installer, I
select kde and now I can use KDE flawlessly

I have the same issue... To make KDE continue I just start top and kill
the
dcop process that's taking all cpu-time.
But after that issue, comes another... The kdewizard starts every time
I log in!
Strange, and annoying...

Please don't try to do a network install from Ben's mirror, just download
the ISO image to preserve the bandwidth for other folks. It's generally
better to do a local network install rather than over the net, s

Be quiet, I am working on a chrooted-install but there are problems with
missing libraries:
[root@orion lib]# rpm -qf /lib/ld.so.1
glibc-2.2.4-25mdk
on my 8.2 ppc, this file is missing when upgrade to cooker, fixed by symlink
it to /lib/ld-2.2.5.so
I'm still getting that same error in the package selection part of the cooker
install that says depslist.ordered has not same package as hdlists. Except
this time is said (0 != 2091) instead of (0 != 2089). So is looks like the
new packages are being added to the mirrors, but I still

Okay, tried it again. Tried all the install kernels and was unsuccessful.
The 2.4.4's came closest. After loading the second stage install, they
kicked me out with a signal 15 and a shutdown. So they exhibited a decidely
_different_ behavior than the 2.4.13's. Don't know if that helps.

Like I said, it worked for me, but YMMV.

Thanks, Stew. Okay, I see that you've changed yaboot.conf's ramdisk size to

very near the end. I also can't seem to get to the error console with any
key combo. Any ideas what I've got to press to switch consoles on a Po

Was just wondering if there was a reason I cannot install via FTP from the
current cooker tree?
I have a powerbook G3 Firewire and have done the following:
Mirrored the cooker tree (successful)
Ran gendistib on it (successful)
Burned a CD-RW to boot the thing (successful)
Loaded gmac.o for net
