Now you're talking about how I flip pancakes or eggs/omelettes.
Instead of a fork, I use a wooden spoon, turned so that the spoon side acts
like a holder and a guide to keep your pancake/egg centred.
Gently but firmly hold the spoon in your left hand (if you are right handed)
against the left
I bought a device from Bed Bath and Beyond called a Griddler. It is a clam
shell type device and cooks on both sides at the same time. I just cooked
pancakes this morning and they turned out perfect with no hassel. Mike

Hi,
That pan sounds interesting. Think I'll look into it.
If I had the where with all, I'd design a waffle maker that had plates that
flip over to be used for pancakes or sold with the pancake plates. I'd also
have the waffle/pancake maker have a bell as well as a light.

I have a griddle and a pancake turner with a part that goes over the top and
holds the pancake while you flip it. I tried the turners with a lever that you
push to make the pancake turn itself. Doesn't always land where you want it
to. Unless you use the devices that cook both sides at once,
I just purchased a pancake pan from blindmicemart.
Before that, I was pancake flipping impaired.
This pan made the difference for me.
It is sort of a shell with four indented cups on the bottom and a smooth top.
Butter both top and bottom.
Make your batter and use an ice cream scoop to put batter
A sense of where it is helps. Make sure your spatula has a good edge to it, and
slip it under the pancake and do a quick flip over. To practice this use a pot
holder or one of those flat sink stoppers on a cool griddle and practice
flipping it over by sliding the spatula under it and using a
Hi,
Ah, makes sense.
My problem with flipping pancakes (if I don't go with the clamshell
recommendation which you smartly pointed out) is that they keep sliding
off my spatula -- I'm not sure if that's the right word. I'm talking
about the wide, thin, and usually metal thing you use for
The name of the pan is a griddle. When making pancakes I go for "hot cake"
sized, around 2.5-3 inches in diameter, and I don't overfill the griddle so I
have room to turn them over without landing on another one of them. This
depends on your griddle -- if you have a larger one, like my two
Hi all,
I’m curious to know how you make pancakes. I would really appreciate it
if you go more into the process of flipping it on the wide, flat pans
made for cooking pancakes.
Thanks!

I think a person should at least try using recipes before posting them and not
post just to post. As for me, I am waiting for one in which the pretzels are
made from scratch in an ordinary home kitchen.

Well Charles 26 states are unfortunately suffering with this dangerous heat

People need to drink lots of water and stay in a cool place with air
