Hi Andrew. I've had an air fryer for some years. I use an original Tefal Actifry. I like this model as it has a stirring paddle. Unfortunately, the paddle can break up crumbed or battered items, so I have an accessory snacking basket which can be used in place of the paddle for such foods. Hope

Mine does look a lot more like a counter top oven, but as far as I  know, they all use the same type of air flow technology. Some people have even called them just small counter top convection ovens. I don't care what it's called, I just know it works very well so they can call it what they like
