I did not and I do think this was the problem.
I thought the initrd was built-into 2.6 somehow but once

wanting to take a look at KDE and saw that KDE 2 is suppose to be in
Woody (what I currently run), so I did an apt-get task-kde and got
nothing, just an error. I went to Debian's website and looked for KDE in

KDE 2.1 is not in woody yet because of problems with qt on alpha. You can get
.debs for potato from http://kde.tdyc.com or you can use .debs from sid. I
have used both succesfully with woody.

ftp.debian.org or wherever and get the file. Most of the time the file
version number is 1 or 2 off.
