Unfortunately the execution of global macros currently is prevented by
the UpdateDocMode parameter. I think that needs some reconsideration
but for now we have to live with it. So either provide this parameter or

I use it for the OOo lists and only rarely read other mails sent
but for some
other there will be a page break in the final output.
I think that at least the latter is caused by the fact that Word usually
has a different page layout and to keep that we have to insert a page
break at the point of insertion.

Java dialog also create a
1 pixel big dialog created by UNO AWT (with the parent of your
choice). This will lock OOo's API sufficiently. Once your dialog is
closed also close the invisible UNO AWT dialog.

first glance.
But why is Simple(System|Command)Mail not enough for you? Using it will
create much less overhead and much less chances to stumble over bugs and
errors.

an empty string you should do that (and
it obviously works then, as you wrote). null is not an empty string, I
think you are lucky that it doesn't crash or at least throws an exception.

Document has a bug. Can you test if the macro
works fine if you assing it to the Open Document event of the template
and then open the template for editing?
