Doesn't that create a dependency on category x?

Hi,
This is a Squiggly Release Candidate 1. Please see the RELEASE_NOTES and the
README.
Changes from the last version:
- Added asdocs
- Merged READMEs / added instructions on how to use Squiggly
- Removed demo and scripts as they are missing needed dictionaries
- Fixed LICENSE
- Change default

Hi,
Several minor issues exist so I'll fix and make another RC.

From a brief look I couldn't find one, so for now I think we just need to point
people in the right direction.

Assuming the issue was in the SDK you are free to do that. The Apache licence
allows you to take Apache code, modify it and republish it, so tha

Design view is part of Flash Builder and wasn't part of the donation by Adobe
to Apache. There's not a lot we can do about that.
While not optimal - you can still use the designer i

I'm not 100% sure but from whatI can tell the AS version supports Hunspell
dictionaries, and the ANE version (not in this release) uses Hunspell. I don't
think there's a port of Hunspell in the current relea

-1 just because the final license wasn't in the kit and we need to figure
out the dictionary dependencies. Otherwise, good enough for a 1.0.

Hi Joel,
Long time ago, someone mentioned this project: http://lightspark.github.io
I have no idea if it will help you or not.
Regarding FlexJS, in these early days, we are punting on pixel-perfect
text. I have hope that someday, a few dedicated volunteers will take a
shot at pixel-perfect text'

Thanks for the reply Mike. Sorry I didn't realize how well documented the
"open source parts of Flash" argument is.
Applications that rely on pixel perfect text layout can not use the browser
DOM because most everything in the browser world it is dependent on what
browser and OS you use. This has

Hi,

It's MPL I believe which is weak copy left so there's some issues there in
regards to Apche bundling.

What licence ? Can we just fork it ?
Tom
That's exactly what I asked one month ago in this list. Former osmf.org now
redirects to http://blogs.adobe.com/osmf/ and it hasn't been updated in 2
years.
It seems unsupported, considering that there're bugs out there been marked
as "NotEnoughTime", so it'd nice Adobe donates it to Apache.

Open Office extensions may be a better option being an Apache project? Looks
like if you unziip an OO dictionary you get the files you need.

Well it's a SWC isn't it?
A mavenized form isn't a different release, it's more an additional location
for placing the released binaries.
Eventually all we have to do is write a pom with it's dependencies and an
Apache header, repo, license block etc and manually stage that RC in the

Hi gouravflex,
Everything what you need you can find at official web site of Apache Flex.

On the website you will find installer for installing FlexJS, SDK source
files for building it on your own and many other help
As we noticed with FlexUnit that simply releasing Maven artifacts of a
previously released library isn't that easy (From Apache procedures ... the
releasing itself is easy), I think we should think about releasing the maven
artifacts together with the normal release.

Compiles fine
I see some issues:
1. There are two README files, one here [1] and one under the 'main'
directory after unzipping the src/binary kit. We should merge those two,
to avoid confusion.
2. LICENSE file is incomplete (there is a TODO section in there)

How Much stuff for flex dev to learn flex JS and how many features of flex

When I was prepping the donation, I was thinking we'd send folks to
Hunspell to get their dictionaries. We could provide links, or maybe the
ant script can offer to fetch one (with notification of license
differences first).
BTW, I ran out of time tonight to look at the RC. I'll look in my morni
