I notice that in Xv PutImage hook, the incoming clipBoxes parameter gives two
rectangle coordinates, the first one being the the four corner of the window
displaying the video image, the second one (which confused me) being a rectangle from
0,0 (origin of the screen) to the upper left

Are there any possibilities to disable Assembly codes for optimization on x86
architecture before compiling? If yes, how could I do that?

different DPI. Perhaps this is something that needs to be looked at
for xfree 5.

working surface inside the
window. i.e. 0,0x100,100 is the display area inside a 100x100 window that can be
placed anywhere on the screen.
