To set the flexbackup to always perform an erase issue the following:
/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop flexbackup erase_rewind_only false
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event console-save

Here are the results after running -
/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop flexbackup erase_rewind_only false
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event console-save
Backup was set for 11:30am, and took about 45 minutes total - on the same
tape!

We provide no support whatsoever for 4.1beta* and 4.1rc* - so you'll have
to work that out for yourself - or upgrade :-)

It should work equally well
G' Morning all,.(Yawwwnn!) Sorry!
I am using the latest flexbackup (e-smith-backup-1.2.0-11.noarch.rpm)
My question: Is flexbackup appending, or overwriting the tape from the
beginning
Yes! I left the same tape in for the past 3 days - Yeah, I know,
On this server the snapshot is 54
Team,
We completed a test of (e-smith 4.1.1) and
e-smith-backup-1.2.0-11.noarch.rpm.
Tape drive used is a SCSI, DEC TZK11 drive (using a TZK1X-CE (QIC 2.0 gig)
tape).
Controller is Diamond Fireport 40.
Results below:
