Hi Jose,
That can be done, of course, but there is also often a need in emcomm
for everyone to be on the same RF frequency, so in order to do that with
SSB, everyone needs to be on the same tone frequency, and with VHF FM
especially, voice communications has to be on the same frequency (i.e.

Just one more comment, being on agreement with the previous postings...
on a "linear transponder" (as a SSB transceiver becomes usually on HF
between your antenna and your soundcard) just rock the transceiver's
dial to make the tones fall in the proper place in the spectrum.

Simon,
The default here in South Carolina NAVY MARS is also 500 Hz. They use
fldigi or MixW, or Pawel's program, and like to adhere to the standards
in any event.
What I don't really understand is how you can successfully use a center
frequency of 1500 HZ with a 2000 Hz-wide MT63 signal. Even

This may be your problem. Fldigi configuration files of any version are
kept in fldigi.files. You cannot run but one version without
reinstalling another.

Stelios,
I'm sorry if I made you feel bad. If you are a moderator, you can delete my

I'm feeling a bit more optimistic today - it's nice to get 8 hours of sleep.
It has been frustrating attempting to use fldigi 3.12.3
I mostly use DM780 rather than fldigi. The Flarq is the exciting n

Olivia is not a custom mode. It is well supported and most (all?)
useful bandwidth/tones pairs can be set v

should not be that hard!
You do not beacon first, but you first establish contact in the mode and
then ask the other station to send an flarq beacon. His callsign should
appear in your flarq and then you just press Connect.

While awaiting Winmor, the only real alternatives are NBEMS/FLARQ,
ALE, or PSKMAIL. ALE is, in my opinion, the best conceptually. It
is "free" and does not need any fancy modems. It does require a
network of stations world-wide and a fairly hefty (good SNR) signal
to make a "link". There is
Well,
IMHO, EasyPal has great potential for sending all file types - text, pictures,
etc.. with error-correction/partial-retransmits.
The problem with EasyPal - it seems only people with 500+ watt amplifiers can
transmit reliably via NVIS antennas to the majority of users listening in the

Thanks again Simon,
Please understand, I appreciate your viewpoint. Please also understand, there
are other viewpoints equally as valid. That is the whole purpose of this thread
to begin with, to try to solicit suggestions for "existing" programs to try to
resolve an existing problem. One of th

Then surely the official part should put some money into the project if it's
so important?

Thanks Skip,
As I replied to Simon, we have been trying the NBEMS modes of FLdigi and FLarq
for a while now. We are able to communicate via fldigi in virtually every mode,
but have yet to establish a connection with flarq.
Any ideas are welcome ...

Thanks Simon,
"WE" have been trying the NBEMS for a week or so now. "WE" have been able to
operate peer-to-peer from within Fldigi in virtually every mode, but have yet
to be able to make a connection using Flarq. Try as we will, it just has not
happened no matter what.
The "WE" is not really
