I don't think it's too cluttered at all, but the two article CTAs for Social
Interaction Primer isn't confusing at all, just redundant, and those two
pieces or real estate should probably be completely different areas for
different purposes.
Also - under Books - which of those is not like the
visually comfortable in the term of color, but the layout may need
improvement.
1) Too much elements clutter the screen. Take the A Social
Interaction Primer for example, the big tag on the left and the
small tag on the right display same information. What's more? They
lead to the same page. So

I do wonder about the image for the article in the CTA not linking to the
article itself but to a lightbox window of the image, which isn't really any
bigger than the original image - Make the image a link to the article - get

Hello all,
I was wondering if any of you have seen the new checkout on Kohls.com.
There are some new features that I have not seen on other e-commerce

Hey IxDA Members,
I was looking for some article or material about new paradigms on the

these days.
My personal opinion is that all the mayor

Hi Aaron,
I think it's not necessary to have a portfolio beforehand. You can
think in other aspects and do a better job in interaction design if
you have learned something in other fields.By the way,I'm a
sophomore with the major of industrial design.Next year,I will choose

Hello Aaron,
is it a criteria to have a portfolio beforehand? I did a BA in

programme in User Centered Design in 2006 and recently graduated.

What I find most interesting about this question is how interface
changes/enhancements affect an entrenched user base. It's the
balance between old users and new users and an existing mental model
vs. a new one. I'm all for a better interface - but I find myself
still stalled using things I used
This isn't exactly 'research' but it is relevant, I think -

I personally think that new UI for the Office 2007 is a great idea.
Yes, I had to readjust to new controls and their location, but after a
little while I get used to it and look back at Office 2003 like it's a
nightmare.

What are your experiences in an agile environment? What has worked for

My organization is considering employing agile, and I tend to be of the

While I don't have an article on hand, I personally see screen based

Would a better term be elegant?
Elegance is the attribute of being unusually effective and
simple...Some westerners associate elegance with simplicity and
consistency of design, focusing on the main or basic features of an
object, its dignified gracefulness, or restrained beauty of style.

A couple thoughts come to mind here:
* Is it true that there's an 8-to-1 ratio of existing users to (potential) new
users. That is, there will never be more than about 10% of the existing base
having to learn it in the future? If so, it may not be worth trying to
institute change, because
