Hey Bowen,
You might get a quicker answer by going to Axure's discussion forum

However, why should I come on this site? The Home Page
lacks the pitch to the user. 'Why' is a click behind
and assumes that the user will click on it and learn
the benefits. This in my opinion should be upfront
telling the users 'Why Ranker'.
What do others
think about this?
BTW, any more critiques of the actual list creation process? Thanks!

Hey, just wanted to put in my 2 cents...
A person who can straddle the fence equally is the exception. We're
talking about expert knowledge in both, right? To expect this as the
norm seems unreasonable.
Personally, I think I've done a pretty good job at keeping up with
my front-end coding
Dev, I'm actually reserving the asterisk and pound keys for zoom
functionality with our integrated map (users may swap between list
view and map view).
William, this is definitely for WAP-only users (we have separate
products for iPhone, Android, J2ME). As for using 5 results per
page, it's
Has anyone come across an example of search results which aren't
based on the base-10 method of displaying results per page?
For example, I've got a situation where a legacy product is
currently displaying 9 results per page and the reasons I've
gathered are:
1) Each result is associated with a

What Google offers in their Developer Guide is sparse and dev-centric

also a Best Practices section if you look near the bottom of the left

I'm working on a mobile site which includes keypad shortcuts for
navigating a list of items (e.g. press the 1 hard key to open the
first item, 2 for the second item, etc.). There's a question of
whether associating an item with 0 (which usually represents the
tenth item in the list on many mobile
Thanks for the replies.
Yes, this is in regards to a mobile site and not a phone tree, but
from the other responses I wonder if this is even used enough to
warrant implementing keypad shortcuts. On most phones (excluding
modern phones such as iPhone, Win Mobile, BB, etc.) you're likely

A basic example of this might be the alert for apps like Thunderbird
or Entourage which notify you of new emails. Hover over the alert to
keep it from fading out and click it to go directly to the email.
The Android OS includes a touch overlay feature which provides a

Ah well, I guess the G1 just hasn't penetrated the market like the
iPhone has. As it stands, I'm basically trying to strike a balance
between the user's familiarity with Google's existing menu designs
versus simplifying the experience (as I mentioned above). I'm
hoping for a happy medium.
Note: I did an IxDA search for G1 and found only 3 results, none
of which really addressed the UI on an element level. I'm hoping a
few folks have had a chance to play around with it by now!

I just recently switched back to Mac after a 6-year hiatus and I've

Hi Helen, my 2 cents:

You can do this same sort of thing in Visio, and make

Hmm, I just upgraded to version 5 and I'm still getting the same

Hi Andrei,
I'm curious to learn what you (or others) feel contributes to a bad
user experience with message boards.
The change in navigation (like going from a home page or product page
to the forums) really bothers me, but I've found these boards to be
generally acceptable. Do you have an
Hey all,
I was wondering if you had a second to provide some honest
critique/comments on our new IGN video player. Finding usability
studies on video was difficult and there was no time to put our own
tests into the schedule, but we drew from our experience, picked our
fights, and came up
Hmm, I'll forward this onto our dev and QA teams. Do you mind sharing
which browser/OS you are using?

I'm Eugene and I'm an IA for IGN Entertainment. Prior to this, I spent

If I listen to music, it's gotta be a favorite artist and an album I'm

It's been hard finding research on this with just snippets of

Hi,
Does anyone have a link to studies on user behavior when it comes to
watching videos? Specifically, I'm interested in finding out whether
users prefer a continuous stream of videos (e.g. CNN) or a click-to-view
type of player (e.g. YouTube).
Thanks,
Eugene
