all dupe albums are albums containing songs that are found in some
playlist. I would venture that all songs in playlists have resulted in
album dupes.

I'm stumped! I upgraded to 6.5, did a full rescan, and I still have
duplicate entries for all albums/songs that are also in a playlist! I
thought for sure 6.5 would fix this. Any ideas??

Before you can get much help, you'll need to state what OS you're
running on, and perhaps some specifics about your hardware.
FWIW ... I think most people have had success with a "Fresh" install.
Most problems seem to occur when installing over old versions.

OK I am not worthy.
I have tried getting 6.5 to work properly, tried everything including
running scanner.exe from command line and from slimserver, use with or
without musicmagic, and I just cannot get it to work properly.
Problems include scanner quits with partial library, duplicates,

To get the latest firmare onto your SB, you'll need to connect via the
Ethernet port log enough to do the firmware update.
After that (assuming the firmware upgrade helps your wireless issue),
you'll be able to connect wirelessly.

Regarding APE tags, that is weird. In my case, MP3Gain uses APE tags
in my MP3s. Works just fine. I don't believe there's any data in my
APE tags other than what MP3Gain put there.

second drive (which was a copy of the first, plus some more - I was
ripping 'off-line' so-to-speak'). I'm pretty darn sure only tracks
(albums) that were in playlists on the 'original' drive are now
duplicating in the slimse

What I did was, for testing purposes, *copied* my music directory to a
new location, but left the playlist directory pointing to the old (and
still good) directory.
So in reality there were two copies of the music. So in some odd way,
Slim was correct in indexing everything twice. But I didn't ge

Is the path/URL required, or will the scanner use the music folder path
from the prefs file when it's not explicitly given on the command line?

It was mentioned here that there seems to be a conflict with Windows to
allow Slimserver to stream from Live365, Shoutcast, RadioTime, etc. I
have updated for the past 3 nights with the new nightly hoping the

Start Slimserver:

Note you -still- don't have tags because AIFF doesn't support tags.
SlimServer is reading the "tag" information from the iTunes database.
If your iTunes database gets corrupted you will lose all this info.
I'm not sure how volume adjustment got in there, but you can disable
SlimServer doing any

don't (so if my iTunes database got screwed I would be in a pickle for
example as regards 'year' and 'genre' tags that at present sit nicely
in my iTunes library!) I decided to use iTunes to convert a few WAV to

Try connecting the server laptop directly to a router port, thus

ports is for -external- access, i.e. from the Internet.

your wireless router - a proper encryption passphrase, proper DNS and

tree, that sounds like a hashmap to me. If you drill down until you
find an actual file, you'll see the first 3 characters of it's name
correspond to the directory path to find it. I'm guessing the filenames

So just to clarify - you can connect wirelessly to squeezenetwork but
not to your own server? But you can connect to your server when wired?
That sounds like the router is somehow blocking LAN access from the
wireless net, which some routers have an option for but not, afaik,
yours.
