I just got a Mac Pro, but I am having frequent bad dropouts playing to
my SB1 (every couple seconds on average). It was rock solid on the old
XP box I replaced, so I know the network is fine. I am on the latest
6.5.1 nightly, using iTunes, mostly ALAC files.
Slimserver is pretty much unusable rig

Are the albums in question Various Artists albums (compilations) ?
Do you have the "group compilations albums together" setting switched
on ?
If you click on Various Artists, are the albums under that heading
rather than under individual artists ?

I have tried to be patient, but i am really getting upset now.
i bought a SB to listen to the LION's internet streams. it now doesn't
allow me to do that in any kind of passable way.
I have not tried 6.5.1 b/c its beta, and i don't think it would make
any difference anyway based on whats
check the event log to see if you can see when it crashed. Do you have
an overnight scan scheduled - perhaps it crashed in the scan?

I gave up using live365 via slimserver. Way too many login errors.
Always works with Squeeze Network.
I do not use Live365 very often. I have fallen in love with Pandora and
usually use it.

I see the same thing quite often, using mostly IE.
Probably the HTTP server timing out whenever page generation time
exceeds some set maximum. So forum queries that return a lot of
results lead to the 50x server errors and blank pages. My guess would
that theres a page generation threshold some

It turns out quicktime was not installed. I thought winamp needed
quicktime to play the acc files - apparently not. Thanks!
Now to figure out why the same problem happens with .ogg files.

after your reponse and did this one more time and now the cover art is
appearing properly in the gallery mode.
It is pretty slow, however I expect this is due to performance issues
with transfering a
Norton antivirus is probably blocking the *.my* files (MySQL). Add them
to the file exclusion list in the antivirus app.

Dear Mrs or Mr I am using slimserver(latest release) with a squeezebox and two Softsqueeze2 which are started "SoftSqueeze.jar" on the same PC with two differents mac address. This PC has a multiple audio output sound card.
So in the "preferences window of softsqueeze" - "audio" - "Audio mixer
Try looking into At Large Recorder. It's made for Slingbox stream
recording, but they also mention recording internet radio streams.

For some strange reason the forum software doesn't like the word
'server' in the search string. 'serve', 'servers', 'server=' all work.
Search terms can be as short as 2 characters, 'sql', even 'sq' produce
search results.

Its just the slim server thats shutting down, the machine isnt doing
anything out of the ordinary. I do have Norton running on the machine,
which I havent ever had issues with.

Im running 6.5.0 and my server seems to be shutting down on its own at
some point during the night. Anyone know what would cause the server to

Also a possibility to attach a SB remotly without having to use a 3rd
party tunneling software. Just open 1 port on the router and have some
