I've assumed you are on Windows. If not, hopefully you'll know what to so. It sound's like you may have installed 6.5 over a non-6.5 installation without deleting the Program Files/slimserver directory. Unfortunately the uninstall of 5.2/3 etc does not remove all the files left in this directory

Just a ethernet disk will not be able to provide the necessary services for Squeezebox and/or Transporter to play music - unless that disk happens to run the Slimserver software (which I assume it doesn't). You need to have a computer that runs Slimserver but this does not necessarily mean that

The log of the error was done with WMA built-in disabled so I think checking for 404 and then trying transcoding won't work. Also adding :1755 at the end of the address to force SS to use port 1755 and not 80 which was OK as a workaround in 6.2, doesn't work in 6.5 with SS unable to understand

I don't think the Guess Tags has anything to do with it, since making edits to the real tags is what causes the problem. The filenames don't change during the testing mentioned above. I'm about to blank those server settings as I need to do a complete rescan anyway. -- MelonMonkey Bruno
