Its very unlikely that the rescan had anything to do with your other
problems. For a start lets get things fixed in the right order.
First
My situation was multiple folders of music spread over two disks. Not so
easy for Slimserver to scan when you input one Music Folder.
My solution is to use NTFS Junction Points
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_junction_point), creating a single
directory with symbolic links to all my music

Suddenly in the random songs mode the music
cuts off before the very end of the song making for exremely ugly

Up is the program listening on port 9000. My computer came with a
demonstration license of McAfee - which I recently (within the last two
weeks) upgraded to a paid subscription, and the software updated itself.

In that mode the SB3 connects directly through the router so looking at
the Windows task manager of the slimserver PC is irrelevant

What I have might get a little close - I run 'SmoothWall'

SmoothWall reports traffic stats in an aggregate fashion, but being

JFO, the my.tt file was written out with only carriage returns, not
carriage return / line feed combinations as notepad requires. You can
load it in WordPad which will handle that and write it out with the
CR/LF combos so notepad can then open it.

Since 95% of the world or so runs Windoze, if you ran such a poll, and
got even 93% SlimServer on Linux, it would be a very high amount.

This is a known issue with my plugin - it's because currently Slimserver API
only allows one plugin to override a key, no matter what
I'll try the command line and see what happens. The only odd thing is
that I've not had any problems with it since I went to an earlier build
of 6.5.1 a couple of months back. It's been running straight through
since then.

This happens to me once in a while also. I go to server settings, and
internet setup. I find that my Live 365 setup is missing/empty. I
punch in my username and password again, and all is well.

I can't remember the syntax of the file at the moment; I'll post it later if

I rolled the software back to v6.3.1 and that did the trick. Obviously,
as the bugs that were reported pointed out, v6.5.1 is the culprit, at
least when it comes to using Apple Lossless.

Everything has been lovely for the first month of ownership of the
squeezebox 3. But just tonight I restarted my computer, and upon
rebooting I discovered the squeezebox was asleep and slimserver won't
start. If I hit the start button it just goes back to start server

Let's see if it's an issue with your user prefs: Open your System
Preferences and create a new user. Log into this user and install the
SS software. Since you can set it so is starts on boot it shouldn't
matter who has the SS server running.

I don't think it is a permissions issue. Everything in my directory has
the same ownership and permissions. And it may be related to the bug
noted, but it is hard to tell because I'm not a playlist user.
I ended up clearing the library and rescanning everything and the
directories showed up
What you're doing should work I believe. What actually happens when you
try to play the track? Can you supply a d_source debug log?
