try the experiment that I did. See if the albums that don't show up as
Artists in Slimserver have a name in the composer box in iTunes (when
you do "get info"). Clear out the info in the composer area and rescan
Slimserver and see if it appears under Artists. Not an ideal fix by any
measure...

It's so annoying when an url suddenly stops working, such as the url for
the Dennis Miller Show on KRLA. I went to the KRLA website and, whereas
before the show would use winamp, from which the url could easily be
copied to the favorites section of SqueezeNetwork, now it uses "Windows
Media" - ho
None of those streams appear to support HTTP streaming, so we can't play
them. VLC and WMP will play them using the MMS protocol. Sometimes the
fix can be as simple as emailing the station and asking if they'll
enable HTTP streaming.

Hi all been having some issues with radio streams to the squeeze box.
The slim server version is the latest 6-5-2 and the streams have

Are you using itunes update plugin? That can cause delays between
tracks if you are running slimserver as a service, and it cannot
connect to itunes running under a user id.

(except the DRM ones, obviously).
The laptop then died - motherboard failure... so I whipped the hard

What do you mean by "remotely"? If you're tunnelling through SSH make sure
you don't forget to tunnel port 9090 (CLI) as well.

The webpage loads OK but the library isn't populated
tried on the local LAN and it works fine also tried other skins
remotely and they too are good.

There's not a whole lot you can do with a 2-hop arrangement that doesn't

Reinstalled and uninstalled everything. Yes I have the mentioned
shortcut. It is as if the slimtray is not finding the pointer that

Interesting. It's not only SlimServer that is having troubles with MP4
files.
Winamp will play them if you open the file and play manually but if you
associate the file with Winamp and click on the file in explorer, winamp
loads but the file will not play and Winamp cannot read the file tags.

You're going to need a big boost. Check out amplified/directional
antennas.
Also open-source firmware like DD-WRT on the Linksys WRT54GL can be
used to:
- turn up transmit power

Slim/Logitech had a choice: keep Pandora/Rhapsody broken for all, or
check in a firmware fix that would mean the official release is out of
synch with the SqueezeNetwork firmware.

A bit OT: I am having problems searching this forum. Whenever I use more
than one search argument (e.g., "Slimserver Linux"), the forum just
returns a blank page. No difference whether I use Firefox or IE
(however, IE produces an error message while Firefox only displays a
blank page). Search work
same issue -- I don't want them on my iPOD, but she wants to listen to
her 'Ashanti' etc over the SB. I have the 'use iTunes' checked, but
manage the iPOD with playlists within iTunes.
And retreat to the basement if she inisists in playing her music LOUD!

This works for me.
Tell SS not to use iTunes.
Then add a shortcut to your root itunes directory, and drop the
shortcut into your music directory. Now all the songs in iTunes will
appear.
They may be a more elegant solution
