I realize my thread title is a bit vague, but let me describe what is

I use an Infrant ReadyNAS to run Slimserver, v 6.5.1. No real issues
to report except recently.
I've been using Random Mix quite a bit lately, and noticed that every
few songs, my SB3 will mute its output
The sockwrtwrapper problem usually show because of additional s/w and
not because s/w is disabled.
The following command (to be run from command line window) will show
all the network s/w that is installed - it might show any non-standard
stuff such as spyware !

Purchased a new PC (basic Dell) with Vista about two weeks ago, as it
was time. Vista is definitely proving itself to be buggy with other

kind of problem.

I am using RAID10 (stripe + mirror) on my HP workstation server. I use
4x250G high speed SATA drives. HP workstations have Intel RAID built
in.
RAID 10 has both speed and redundancy advantages. It will continue
working if one drive goes bad. Obviously it makes sense to have a spare
drive handy

I'm on a desktop that sends a hard wired signal from my DSL wired
router to a repeater in another room. The repeater sends a wireless
signal to the Squeezebox.

I've never heard good things about in-wall/in-ceiling speakers. They
are expensive, inflexible and don't sound very good.
It would probably be a better idea to put in a cable run and use
bookshelf speakers on wall mounts.

Could you have a stray ARTISTSORT tag ? I seem to recall this will
override any Artist tag, even if completely different from the Artist.
Have a look in Foobar, or add an ARTISTSORT tag of Max Richter. Then
do a full clear and rescan.
