How does sync between sb3:s work?
I want to change the music played on both players from either one of
the players - not use one as master, is that possible?

Yes, it's still connected to the network and slimserver.
The SB is never really off unless you unplug it from the mains.

I read this and past threads about SB starting up unexpectedly, and was
reminded of a particular unexpected alarm I experienced many years ago.
I used to have an alarm clock radio on my bedside and typically woke up
by having the radio turn on.

for what it is worth I have the same issue. My slim server with four
Squeezeboxes and Transporter started just fine under Tiger and after
upgrading to Leopard they no longer start.
Did you already install the 10.5.1 update?

I had exactly the same problems and assumed it was the WLAN to start
with. I have now moved house and have my combination of one SB, an SB2
and an SB3 linked by ethernet using static IPs. The SB3 still
experienced the stopping mentioned in this thread and a firmware

Logitech and Slim Devices generally do not comment on new products very
far in advance of their release. A portable/semi-portable SB has been
discussed regularly on these forums for years. Search the forums for
boombox or portable and you'll find all kinds of ideas being kicked
around, and some
AlienBBC and Live365 are unrelated so it looks like a network config
problem on your PC.
This problem is usually either a firewall or DNS.
Give more info on your systems - OS ? Slimserver version ?
Can you play any Internetradio ?

The analog output of my SB3 does well, but the digital ones only
transport some calm silence.
Neither optical nor coax out will give my speakers a single sound.
Is there a solution or is my beloved SB3 broken?

I think you have a problem with the DNS config on your PC as the problem
on shown when using Slimserver and not Suqeezenetwork.
To check if DNS is the problem
1. Enable logging for d_http_async and d_source under Server
Settings/Debugging. Don't forget to click change.
2. Open the logging

It's very hard to judge a person's computer literacy so I initially
assume it unless told otherwise.
Post the log - the forum has a limit on the number of lines in a post
so you may have to copy the log onto a text file and attach it.

year now, and I have lost a significant amount of hair on top during

I recently started another thread on this subject (which i now can't

my SqueezeBox and start brand-new install.
After weeks of shutting down on its own and not reconnecting quickly,
and after trying several fixes, SB now

watching this and hopefully SS ver 6.5.5 will fix it. or maybe some
preference or other has to be trashed, but I am not game to experiment.

build playlists in another application.
This can't happen as long as SC7 is a web application because the
browser won't know what to do with the files.

Would appreciate help on how to get album tracks sorted by track number
in tag when chosing album play. Only does so when track number is in
the file name, does not seem to refer to tag. Have a mix of mp3 and wma
files, prefer not to have track number in file name.

One of the Slim Devices techs actually made a bug fix that was
incorporated into the subsequent firmware upgrade, which allowed for
multiple brightness settings. But the problem still occurred for me.
I think that sometimes the Slim Devices servers send out a signal,
that's how it was explained
