As long as you are *certain* your SB3 IR remote is dead, you can try fixing it yourself. Quite often the IR "eye" or transmitter at the end of the remote simply needs to be re-soldered, especially if it has been dropped. May as well crack it open and take a look before throwing it away. :) --
