sleepynight- There is a common issue with these remotes that the LED connection to the PCB can crack. It may not be obvious in your case, but that's likely the cause. You might want to open it up again and re-flow the solder where the LED leads connect to the board. -- tcutting

Is the SqueezePlay player somehow connecting to www.mysqueezebox.com instead? That would be weird, but not impossible. You can check on mysqueezebox.com to see if it's a connected player. If so, you can disconnect it from there. Or is the player you are remote-controlling connected to mysb.com?
