I am in the UK but I have a Qobuz France subscription because I started
using Qobuz for downloads before they officially opened up to the UK
market (at the time, I had to email them asking for an account).
My monthly subscription has now (automatically) dropped from 19.99 Euro
to 15.99 Euro but
The overwhelming majority of my music collection is classical and I
really have no problem using the existing tags (albeit that I use the
album tag for the work and include the composer and main performer in
the album name).
I've no objection to additional tags but there are work arounds for

My music library is mostly classical and the following works very well
indeed for me:
Album tag: individual work in format - - e.g. "Sibelius - Symphony No 3 - C Davis, Boston SO"
Title tag: Movement e.g. "I. Allegro moderato"
Composer tag: Composer, e.g. "Sibelius"

I've been using Ubuntu Server on my headless HP Microserver for some

A few weeks ago I did a clean install of Ubuntu Server (because I messed

A slightly different solution: I've been running LMS on a HP
Microserver, which also holds all my music files, for some years. I
installed Ubuntu Server as the OS on the Microserver. It works very well
indeed and I can install updates as and when I wish.

Pity about that - but it was a bit of a long shot.
I'll convert a FLAC file to ogg and then see whether Inguz (as is) works
on ogg files (rather than Spotify streaming ogg).

I'm glad that you have got Inguz working for ALAC files.
As far as Spotify's ogg files are concerned this is a bit like the blind
leading the blind, but as nobody else has taken this up: I've been
looking at the ogg entry in the Inguz custom-convert.conf. It uses
sox.exe to convert the data to wa

Perhaps I was somewhat overstating the battery drain but the option to
reduce it is very welcome.

Andrew Scott's latest blog entry is breathtaking in its chutzpah.
One curious thing is that he clearly states that the on-demand RTMP
streams have now been switched off - odd as they are working fine with
Radio 3 on-demand.
He also states that all BBC maintained clients have been migrated to the
I agree with Mnyb.
Also, *if* your "album" tag *is always* in the format " :

would want to do this is another matter, but I am just giving an example
of what is possible and no doubt there are even better ways of doing the
same job.
gazjones59,
My music library is also mostly classical and I also used to search in
exactly the same way you do (my album name format is -

However, now that there are the additional browse modes in LMS 7.9 I no
longer use the search but use the composer browse and drill down from
there. I

If LMS is running an a box of some kind you can access it from another
computer on the same network by opening a browser on that computer and
entering, say, 192.168.1.21:9000. Where 192.168.1.21 is the IP address
of the box on which LMS is running - replace it with the IP address of

For a while I've been periodically extracting the LMS db tables (to CSV

Another factor to take into account is whether you want the LMS to do
any transcoding. Most NAS boxes just don't have the power to do that
satisfactorily.

As far as I can tell (looking at the downloaded manual for my old Duet),
the Duet does not natively support AAC but it will play AAC transcoded
by LMS.
If that is so, I suggest testing to see whether changing the AAC Stream
Format box to "Disabled" (or "deactivated") helps.
Touch, Meridian G92
Have you checked the AAC Filetype options in Settings/Advanced/File
Types?
What are the Stream Format and Decode settings for AAC (i.e. for AAC in
the left column)?

I tried using synctoy but found it to be one of the most frustrating
pieces of software I have encountered - it just didn't do what I wanted,
and what it did do it did to its own "rules".
The way I handle things is that I use a HP Microserver running Ubuntu
for storage. I don't use RAID or any volume spanning. I then
periodically mirror each HDD in the HP Microserver to a separate
external backup HDD (formatted as NTFS) of the same size (2TB) using an
eSata connection. As only the

after it was enthusiastically recommended by friends. It has a premium

Ah, sorry - streaming to smart phones never crossed my mind!

I would definitely be willing to subscribe on either an annual or
monthly basis.
The problem would be setting up a "formal" group willing to maintain LMS
whilst finding a structure that people felt comfortable with, which gave
some assurance that the subscriptions would be properly used and which
