Would be very helpful for blind people as well.
We would need to have the track piped through an external app which
would perform the mixing.
ecasound under linux would be able to do it in batch mode I guess.

I like SC7 for it's possibility to be adapted to taste and because it
is open source based on standards like html/perl which makes things
quite accessible for me. But SC7 always has a taste of a hackerish sort
of fee

I think phase inversion takes cpu power and your hardware might be
underpowered and thus drop some samples? The firmware of the tp is
updated with new slimserver versions. So as you upgrade to 6.5.4 for
example you'll end up with firmware 31.

Hey netcat is great. Also for doing remote batching via the cli. I am
just thinking about it. I like cli Interfaces much more than guis and
if one polishes the cli a bit one can do all sorts of things with it.

Is there any way to use a higher firmware i.e from SS 7.0 with ss 6.5.4
for my transporter? There should be a bugfix I would like to have but I
don't want SS 7.0 right now.

If lame is not installed it won't work. Go to player settings for the
specific player and check if lame is installed under audio. If not
install lame and try again. Sorry if you did try that but it looks like
you didn't.

the fact that I have installed five hard drives it

Yep, helps. Definitely. One thing to clarify though. The jumpers are not
of the sort we know from ide drives are they? The are much bigger
standing out by 1/3 inch or so. Right?

Try hardwiring everything for a test. If you still getting drops you've
got a software problem if not well wifi sucks!
Hard wiring my setup really made administrating my home network far
more easy.

Anyone tried the Eva 8000 of Netgear? From what I read it has good
interfaces and plays videos and stuff just using smb/cifs indexing the
library itself. That looks like a good solution if you already have a
server box sitting somewhere remote.

just a question... I am perfectly satisfied with ss 6.5.4 and since it
needs a bit of work to port sc7.0 to the Thecus N5200 I wonder how and
if I can use the latest firmware for Tp with ss 6.5.4 since it is
supposed to solve some problems.

I didn't find a d-bus remote in on the back of the Marantz. Just found
the f.c.b.s. in and out respectively.
Ir-Blaster could somehow be complicated for it may not be possible to
find a config file for ir blaster.
