No one should pay list for electronics :) Amazon list the 550 for $70,
so the newegg price is a good deal but nowhere near half price. Oh, and

Yes, SB2 will play ogg. There have been some issues in the past with
particularly esoteric encoders settings, but I haven't heard
complaints recently. Certainly all my oggs play fine. How is your
transcoding setup?

I believe it uses the credentials you entered on SqueezeNetwork for
last.fm and radioio, but in order for that to work you must have
correctly entered you SqueezeNetwork login details on the appropriate
tab in SC settings. The error message you mentioned suggested that
wasn't done.

That's why I asked my second question, if the albums in question are
being recognized as compilations (i.e. they appear in VA) then I don't

OK, I'm back after a rescan. I'm seeing the same thing as you, on the
SBC the album is show twice (correct) but the disc number isn't there
so you don't know which is which :)

Is it a permissions problem? It's possible the user SC is running as
can't see the newer files. You could try putting the FLAC files on a
local drive to see if it's a network share issue.

The people who make NOD32 do make a full suite with a firewall, no idea
how it stacks up as I haven't used a software firewall in years (simply
not needed imho). Kapersky have a very good reputation, you could also
do a free solution with a combination of AVG and ZoneAlarm.

Sounds like one of the demo units. if you search around on the forum I
think you'll find a few others in the same situation. My memory is that
they're not convertible back to regular players - you should probably
return it to the seller.

will default to looking there if all else fails, maybe the filename is
OK but for some reason it can't read the directory you have set for

I have the A2's, the Boom sounds better, particularly in the bass. One
thing the A2s have going for them is seperation (as they can obviously
be moved further apart) but the StereoXL processing on the Boom does a
pretty good job of widening the soundstage.

Just for testing, can you try disabling any WEP/WPA security on the
router? There have been a number of issues where it appears the SB is
connected, and the only problem is DHCP, but in fact there's an
encryption problem.

How is the SBR connected to your amp? It sounds like you may have
connected it to an input designed for a turntable (might be labeled
Phono). Those connection apply an equalization curve which increases
the bass a lot.
