@Kidstypike, Thank you for this detailed post. I learned a lot and
solved a long standing puzzle about how to access my sublibraries.
I used your tutorial to create Library Views for my collection. My music
is on a NAS. The top level folder is "MusicLib", and there are 7
subfolders (Classical, J

I've deleted my first post today, because of inaccuracies.
All my library views are created using "file path contains".
E.g. file path contains Wendy's music, Squeezebox music, etc..

you need to select the library view, and this is global, i.e. cannot be
set per player.

I find that assigning different library views to different players
doesn't seem to work in all cases.
E.g.
Using the *default UI* I can assign different library views to different
players.

Just to add one thing to this
There is some issue with Material Skin on Win 10 not showing the
libraries once they've been set up. It's like the skin is cached and
doesn't update so you can't see your libraries.
I had to go to the mobile skin on my phone where they showed properly to

In an attempt to negate any vagaries I renamed the music folders to
MyMusic and PaulsStuff.
Using just the directory names as search terms I successfully set up the
two libraries. (Only one small issue, on 8.1.1 selecting the libraries
is arrived at via three small dots and not a note icon).

I'm not sure what the problem is, I've just tried this using the default
UI, copied the path for "Wendys music" from "Basic settings", pasted
into "*Path contains*" and get 1918 albums which is about 28,000 tracks,
so it's a fairly large library.

What would happen if you just put "*

Following your instructions to the letter (number of times) a search for
D:\Music or D:\Pauls Music finds nothing ('0 results' instantly..

checked out other searches and they all worked fine (and very fast

No, it doesn't, but I need to know your music folder structure for both
sets of music files to proceed further.
Oh. I always thought that that function just enabled you to add files
from different directories to your main library. But it creates distinct

Not intending to hijack the thread, but would library support in
MediaServer be useful? List my libraries... Select default library...
How would that be used in practice? Set an overall default library, one
per player, one per Echo... ?

I use the Material Skin on my Windows PC, although at the moment I keep
having to pull up default as I'm reconfiguring stuff.
But mostly the Orange App on my Android phone (in case that has any
relevance).

Hi.
I have a desire to run two separate libraries and switch between them.
Is there a simple way to achieve that without running two instances of
LMS?
I am aware that Erland designed a (paid?) multi-library plugin but I'm
not too sure if it still exists/works or even if it is/was appropriate
